So it’s been forever and a day, I suppose. Most of you probably aren’t reading any longer, but with the cessation of the semester I have decided to give this another go. What I’m hoping is that the summer will provide me with enough time to do this blog regularly that it will become part of my daily/weekly habit, and the fall semester will not destroy my work ethic like this spring semester has.
Anyway, I had an idea. Let me run this by you. I’m a pretty big fan of Cowboy Bebop. Yes, I know, so is everyone. Hush. Actually, OGT is sort-of a fan, though I think he’s sort-of (get it? repetition? yes, I’m terrible) put it into his “past” file or something. That’s cool.
What I thought I’d do though, is watch the series again and blog about it. Because I’m a nerd, yes. Because it was popular? Well, not really. Because I’ve never watched the series in Japanese? Yes. Yes indeed.
I watched the first episode in Japanese and didn’t like the voices — pretty much at all. So I never tried any more. But with my recent watching of Slayers in Japanese I thought I’d give it another go. And it’ll give me something fairly consistent to write about. And, if I can be honest (and if I can’t be honesty with complete strangers who probably aren’t even reading, who can I be honest with?), I’m really behind on current anime right now. I haven’t even finished Spice and Wolf, and I don’t even know what’s going on in the new season. I’m looking forward to the new xxxHolic when I get a chance to actually watch more than three minutes of the first episode. Well, I should define “looking forward to.” I’m a big fan of the manga, and the first show was decent, though a bit lackluster. But still enjoyable enough for me to try out the new iteration, which starts, I’ve read, with the spider arc. So there.
Anyway. Short version. Cowboy Bebop in Japanese. First time. Hilarious responses. Opinions?
